Miami Dade College, one of the largest and most diverse institution of higher education in the nation is accepting applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer, MDC Foundation.
The Chief Financial Officer, MDC Foundation is responsible for providing overall financial and fiscal management of the Miami Dade College Foundation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs and supervises the day-to-day accounting and finance activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and CASE standards to safeguard assets through the maintenance of appropriate controls
Manages cash flow and forecasts return on investment (ROI) for current and future programs
Participates in all internal planning regarding the Foundation proposed programs to ensure alignment of programs, outreach and training plans with financial projections
Prepares monthly financial statements, associated financial reports and ad hoc reports as necessary and presents to the MDC Foundation Board as required
Develops the Foundation’s annual operating and endowment budgets
Establishes annual priorities and benchmarks and conducts regular reporting, measuring projections against actual performance
Directs completion of the Foundation’s annual filing of the IRS Form 990 as well as the annual financial report and audit
Provides day-to-day oversight over the Foundation’s investment portfolio and leads the Foundation’s Investment Committee.
Serves as the Finance liaison to the College, working with college personnel on scholarship related and operational matters
Develops all controls, policies, procedures and practices used to safeguard and report on the assets of the Foundation
Interfaces with donors and community leaders on Foundation related financial matters
Manages Foundation Finance personnel
Master's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive experience in financial, treasury, accounting, portfolio investment analysis, policy administration and/or strategic management; or Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and ten (10) years of directly related work experience. All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License in good standing
